Barbara is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, MCIArb and a Mediator. Currently serving as the Country Manager of the International Law Development Organisation (IDLO) in Uganda.
She previously served as a Legal Specialist for IDLO in Kenya where she contributed to several commercial justice sector reforms such as the automation of the Commercial and Tax Division of the Kenyan Judiciary, the drafting of the National ADR policy, and the publication of the Case Digest on ADR by the National Council for Law Reporting.
During her time as a Senior State Counsel at the Office of the Attorney General in Kenya, she represented the Government in diverse commercial matters before the High Courts, Tribunals, and ADR Panels. She also served as the Team Lead of- the Case Management Department at the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration (NCIA) and contributed significantly to its operationalisation and drafting of the Arbitration and Mediation (2015) Rules of NCIA.
